AC Milan Wins Champions League for the Seventh Time

AC Milan made sure there was no Liverpool comeback this time.
Filippo Inzaghi scored two goals and Milan did it by the book to win European soccer's biggest prize for the seventh time last night at Athens, beating Liverpool 2-1 in the Champions League final.
It was a repeat meeting of their 2005 final when Milan tossed away a 3-0 halftime lead to lose on penalties after a 3-3 draw that become one of the greatest finals in the competition's 52-year history.

"These are the evenings that remain with you for all your life," Inzaghi said. "I've scored quite a few times in Europe but scoring in the Champions League final is something special."

"The defeat two years ago will stay me for a lifetime," Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso said. "But this is a different story. It's our turn to celebrate now."

Milan moved within two of Real Madrid's record of nine European Cup triumphs. Liverpool has won five times.

Milan went ahead when Andrea Pirlo's 45th-minute free kick went through the wall and deflected off the side of Inzaghi and past goalkeeper Pepe Reina.

Inzaghi made it 2-0 in the 82nd, taking a pass from Kaka in the center, spurting ahead and rolling the ball from an angle past the outstretched Reina.

Dirk Kuyt scored for Liverpool with a minute to go. This time, however, there was no extra time and no penalty shootout.

Beryl "Desktop Cube" Effect for Windows

If you are jealous of your geeky linux friends that have Beryl running under linux, you should check out Yod’m 3D, a small application for Windows XP / Vista that will give you a decent substitute for the “Desktop Cube” effect.

In the screenshot, you’ll notice a blue background. If you want to customize the background picture, you can change it from the options menu ( you can go to options menu by clicking Yod’m 3D tray icon and selecting options) . You can also change the cube transparency and zoom level from the options.

If you want each desktop to have it’s own wallpaper, you can change the wallpaper for that desktop by switching to the desktop and then set the wallpaper the normal windows way.

Apart from the cool 3D cube effect this application is useful since it provides 4 separate desktops.

Use Any Pendrives or Memory Stick to Ready Boost Your Vista

ReadyBoost is a new feature in Microsoft's Windows Vista that uses flash memory on a USB 2.0 drive, SD card, CompactFlash, or other form of flash memory, in order to boost system performance.
Unfortunately, Vista refuses to use slower flash memory. well if you have any flash memory of 256mb or higher here's how to get around this limitation and use any USB stick or card you have to increase your computers memory.

  1. First Plug your device in. cancel AutoPlay , and go to Computer in the start menu. When it pops up,right click your device and rename to a unique name, then again right-click the device and select properties.
  2. select the Readyboost tab on the properties menu and check Do not retest this device. Click okay and unplug the device from your computer
  3. Press winkey + R then type regedit and press enter. The registry window should load up.

Using the left-hand pane, work your way through the following folders: HKLM (Local Machine) -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows NT -> CurrentVersion -> EMDMgmt. You'll have a list of USB devices the computer has encountered, one of which should be your USB stick.
It will look some thing like this:
    _??_USBSTOR#Disk&Ven_&Prod_USB_DISK_Pro&Rev_PMAP#07571600003C&0# {53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}@R33F_2290012782
where the red part should be the unique name that you used for the device.

Here there's a few details you need to edit. Double click on Device Status and change the value to 2, then ok. Do the same for ReadSpeedKBs and WriteSpeedKBs, changing their values to both 1000. Exit the registry window.
  4. Now insert the device back in and once again go to the device properties (Computer > Right-click on drive). If you look under the Readyboost Tab, you'll be able to now select Use this device. Success! Now enjoy your faster PC.
